Surprising honesty?

In his dissenting opinion in the Heller case yesterday, Justice Stephen Breyer said:

In my view, there simply is no untouchable constitutional right guaranteed by the Second Amendment to keep loaded handguns in the house in crime-ridden urban areas.”

Did he really say that? That people that live in "crime-ridden urban areas" somehow have different rights (less rights really) than those people who live in safer, more well-to-do areas?

Shouldn't someone on the left be upset by that?

Comments:
I'm not from the left, but frightened by the comment. Shouldn't be surprised - it is part of the Big Brother mentality and also the left's belief that yes in fact different people in this country have different rights that others. (Also think of how the rights of the unborn are viewed in the U.S.A.) There is a great Reagan story where he cleverly put someone in his place who made a similar comment.
